Ga kok, itu karena mereka main pas dengan takaran yg diberikan... emg sih kayakx SW mmg diperuntukkan utk para "weirdos"... jd penekananx lebih ke cerita yg fantastik, imajinatif...

Lucas ngerilis film SW IV A New Hope itu tahun 1977. Saat itu belum ada teknologi CGI (CGI baru mulai tahun 90an dengan komputer Silicon Graphics, Apple aja baru ada generasi pertama yang layar monochrome akhir dekade 70an). Lucas bikin semua efek itu dengan blue screen, model miniatur (stop-motion), latex mask, makeup yang semuanya juga nggak secanggih sekarang. Kebayang nggak, berapa ratus orang yang terlibat untuk pembuatan SW IV? Model maker, set builder, wardrobe, mask maker, make up, dll. Gw punya buku the making of-nya jadi gw bisa appreciate usaha yang dilakukan Lucas, thus I call him genius. Justru karena ada pionir2 seperti Lucas itu maka CGI dikembangkan mengikuti demand perfilman sono dan muncul standar2 baru dalam CGI sampai seperti sekarang.

Soal cerita, mana ada lainnya yang bikin epic seperti SW? Okelah, ada Star Trek, ada JRR Tolkien, DC & Marvel. Lainnya? Justru gw lebih kecewa dengan film2 SW generasi baru I-II-III, yang obral action CGI, muncul robot ini-itu, sehingga menutup esensi cerita yang sesungguhnya.

Gw setuju dengan @Ian_McLaughlin, para aktor itu main sesuai porsi yang ditentukan script, tidak lebih. Tapi SW sebagai sci-fi bukan hanya ditujukan untuk weirdos atau nerds. Cerita silat atau komik superheroes apa juga ditujukan untuk weirdos dan nerds? Semua kalangan bisa menikmati kan? Kembali lagi ke soal esensi.

Don't get me wrong guys, I love Star Wars, but I maintain my opinion I don't like Lucas that much
let me show you one example why I hate Lucas
on early part of 3rd episode The Revenge of The Sith when Obi Wan & Anakin got a fight in bridge room of Gen. Greyfus star cruiser with Gen. Greyfus, after they releasing chancellor Palpatine,
to be able to run away, Gen. Greyfus destroy the glass window on the bridge and because it's pressurize room, the other window also destroy (as it shown on the scene), and instantly emergency wall shield close up (shown also on the movie)
but then
when Obi Wan, Anakin & Palpatine had emergency landing on the "shattered Gen. Greyfus star cruiser" when the camera pans in closing to the view of the bridge you can see that AMAZINGLY not only emergency wall shield is gone, but also the glass that had been destroyed by Gen Greyfus RESURRECTED FROM DEATH

If we hate a director just because he made continuity errors or other goofs in his film, we would have hated all of film directors in the world.

Practically no film is mistake-free.

he he he, sure, I just dont like him ok,
look, I'm a sci-fi geek so if he made another sci-fi movie I'm sure I'm still watch it, and unfortunately for me, he often had brilliant idea for a sci-fi movie
