@lightsaber son, get your fact first before you make any statement, Barbra won oscars's best actress for her role in Funny Girl in 1969 and Cher won hers in 1988 for Moonstruck and what made you think both ladies wants to follow Whitney's acting carreer when its clearly stated that their acting debut was long before Whitney's and also both divas gained more succesful and critically acclaim acting performance. -,-

But why is it only The Bodyguard that became the milestone, the golden standard? It was Kevin Costner--the hottest actor at that time choosing Whitney Houston--a black diva who can't act really well in time when racism is a big issue. Whitney asked Kevin why he chose herself, Kevin answered simply by saying "because you're the only one that can sing."

Jadi, dengan mengemukakan Cher dan Streisand tadi, apa itu golden standard? Kalau bukan, mending jangan dibandingin dengan raksasa seperti The Bodyguard ^^

Harus diakui saat itu, ada sesuatu yang entah apa, bikin The Bodyguard itu jadi monumen besar dunia entertainment. Sesuatu yang ga dimiliki Beyonce di Dreamgirls, Mariah di Glitter, ataupun Xtina di Burlesque. Apa itu adegan stop-the-plane yang legendaris itu? Apa itu cerita cinta cheesy dan interracial itu? Satu jawaban yang paling kuat yaitu kisah cinta interracial yang tabu namun manis. Yang jadi perintis jalan bagi penyanyi2 setelah Whitney.

Sesuatu yang magis yang bahkan ga bisa dikalahin oleh Whitney sendiri dengan 3 film lanjutannya. Makanya ane bilang itu once in a lifetime occurrence. Bukan krn mo mendewakan Whitney, tapi Whitney pun dengan film2 dia selanjutnya ga bisa ngalahin The Bodyguard ^^

- Penulis cerita The Bodyguard sebenarnya takut dengan pilihan wanita yg akan ditentukan Kevin Costner. Tapi begitu dia tau Kevin memilih diva beneran, dia lega banget karena menurut dia cuma diva asli yang bisa mainin Rachel Marron.
- Whitney sebenarnya hampir ga jadi meranin Rachel Marron karena jadwal syuting The Bodyguard crash dengan jadwal tur dunia Whitney 1991. Tahu apa? Kevin Costner menunda produksi The Bodyguard selama setahun untuk nunggu Whitney selesai tur dunia.
